Friggin Joke of a Doc!

So I got the call from my doc office this morning. Turns out that I also (on top of the Fibromyalgia) have an underactive Thyroid. They want to put me on medication for it (hopefully its not too expensive). But that is the reason for my weight being so bad (and spurts of rapid weight gain) among a few other things. Joy. Plus I need to start taking a multi vitamin, because I am slightly anemic. Grrr. What else?!? Pile it on I guess. But, keeping positive. At least this doc is doing something, and on the ball. He's figuring shit out and taking care of it quickly. Plus he tells me like it is, even if I don't want to hear it. He's just awesome!

Andrew woke this AM with a horrible barking cough. So I kept him home from school. He's ALWAYS sick. Hubby and I were discussing seeing about having his tonsils taken out. If it ain't one thing its another with him. Seems like JUST when he is starting to get over it. One of us other 4 get something, and he pics something back up again. So I set up a doc appointment for him. Same ol doc. Ended up sitting in the waiting room for all of about a minute before getting called back. Sounds great right? NOT. We get back there. Nurse checks his pulse & temp, says doc will be right in. And guess what. We waited a DAMN HOUR! She comes in, asks whats been going on. I said "Doc, he is ALWAYS sick. All year long, week to two weeks at a time, over the counter meds, gets him better, then bam, someone else gets sick, and he gets it back. Woke up today with bad barking cough". I ask "Is it possible he needs his tonsils taken out, like his dad and brother did?" She says "We don't do that anymore, it will actually make him sick more often." She then listens to him. Looks in his ears, nose and throat. Says "He's in Kindergarten right?" I tell her yes and she states "Well its viral, get used to it. He will be sick all year long. All kids in Kindergarten end up spending the entire year sick. Just deal with it. It builds his immune system for the years to come" I told her that my oldest son didn't spend the year sick in Kindergarten, and he had his tonsils out prior to. And that my daughter didn't spend the year sick in Kindergarten and she didn't have her tonsils out. She says "Well I guess they were just lucky then, but all kids spend the year sick during their Kindergarten year of pre-school, it was a fluke the other two didn't" and then the witch sends us home. WTF?!?! Tell me if that ain't one great big crock of shit!!!!!!!! I just wanted to smack the hell out of her!

So here I sit, searching docs in Paola KS, so that if the kids end up in the hospital, they will end up at Children's Mercy, not Wichita (the drive is much shorter). I WILL NOT go back to that damn place!!!! I am so mad right now its not funny.

So Andrew and I went and filled the fuel jugs full of fuel, and got the hubby some chew. We were leaving there and he asked where we were going... I say "We are going to get gas in the truck" he says "No mom, not gas, diesel mom!" LMAO, Can you tell he is his fathers son. I know what I mean damnit, If I want to call it gas, I will call it gas! LOL As long as I PUT the RIGHT one in the truck we are fine!

Anyway, that pretty well sums up our day so far. LOL. Here before too long, I'm going to head out and stack the trailer full of wood for a customer. That will be about it.
